More women on the wheel, more force in the operation

Today, we are a more diverse, plural and empowered company, andMárcia Cristina Araújo da Costarepresents this moment of ours. Natural de Linhares (ES), she was once a porter, vigilante and quarry, until she found the opportunity to realize an old dream: to be a driver.

Marcia was in the first class ofMOV+ Women, our exclusive driver training program for women, which encourages female presence in the operation. Today, she drives a dumpster truck in the Arcel contract of ArcelMittal (ES). 'It's a pleasure to come and go with my truck. I'm happy there, driving. It is a very good feeling, which has no explanation'.

For Marcia, participating in the Driver's Day campaign and the Operator has a special meaning. 'I am proud to represent all my colleagues and especially the women. Being a woman in the operation has its ups and downs, but with claw we get there. I hope more and more women will come', he says.

In the bustling operation of the Poli Macaé contract (RJ), another collaborator shares the same determination of Marcia.Laressa de Oliveira SouzaShe's been at the company since 2021, where she's a truck driver. It represents a generation of women who are redefining the spaces in logistics.

' I'm one of those women who loves challenges and driving is one of the biggest. I'm proud to represent women in a profession where most are still men. This shows that women are being seen, are gaining strength in the labor market in functions where they would not even imagine they would arrive ", complete.

Dreams realized and challenges overcome

The journey between Victoria and Anchieta was never just a route toJonathan de Oliveira Freitas: is the way of a child's dream that has come true. Driver of the charter in the contract Samarco Ubu (ES), he lives his second passage through VIX, carrying the same passion of the boy who watched the buses in childhood.

' When I was traveling by bus, I was there, watching the drivers. In 2007, I took my first chance as a driver with all my might. I can't do anything else. I just drive. This is my life,' he says. Married and with two children, he says he has the support of the family and feels he is a pride to them. Besides, Jonathan claims his main hobby is... guess... drive.

' I never imagined being part of the campaign and being here representing this class, which is so big. I don't just carry 46 passengers, I carry a lot more lives, because behind each passenger, there's a husband, a wife, a son, a father, a mother, a grandmother. So this feeling of pride is very great and the responsibility is also great'.

At Poli Macaé,Jhone Martirelli Silva, crane operator driver of the Heavyweight team, also overflows its pride when talking about the profession. 'Everything goes through the driver's hand: food, car parts, medicines. The importance of our work is immeasurable. This is a source of pride'.

The dynamism of the function was what attracted Jhone most from the beginning. For him, every day brings a new chance to evolve. 'I have always been very focused on seeking new challenges. And being a driver gives me that. Every day the scene changes, the challenges change. It is a profession that makes me overcome myself, and it motivates me ", ends.
